Jody R. Weiss is a serial social entrepreneur with a special focus on a thriving humanity. Jody works with family offices and individual investors to explore “transformative giving” and how to deploy capital creatively into social impact for-profit and non-profit projects. In 2002, Jody launched PeaceKeeper™ Cause-Metics™ and served as the company’s CEO. PeaceKeeper was one of the first cosmetics companies to offer 75%+ organic ingredients and to give donations to urgent human rights issues globally. In her early career, Jody was a sports agent at International Management Group (IMG), representing 45 elite athletes such as Bill Rogers, Rob de Castella, Zola Budd, and Greta Waitz. Jody is a 40+ meditator and teaches that man and nature are profoundly interconnect.
Dr. Maxinne Rhea Leighton, Associate AIA, has held leadership roles in design firms for the past two decades. Maxinne’s expertise lies at the intersection of the built environment (a field reflecting the integration of engineering, architecture, and planning), climate change, and social and environmental justice. As President of WIIS-NY (Women in International Security) she is co-leading an international working group on climate change, migration, gender and security. As an honorary council member for the Consortium for Sustainable Urbanization Global with UN-Habitat she co-edited a book on The Future of Cities. A post-disaster recovery mediator and narrative change agent, she worked on the ground as part of local governmental, non-profit and community initiatives post-Superstorm Sandy, Katrina and 9/11.
